At Well-Spring we have many opportunities for volunteers. You may volunteer individually, as a student, as a family or even as a group from a church or community organization. We serve a diverse population with diverse needs. All we need to establish is that your capabilities and our needs match. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. We will provide you with the necessary orientation and training for your position. Please register, and if selected you will be contacted for an interview.
Volunteer opportunities in Well-Spring Health Care:
Performer or Lecturer to entertain residents by singing, dancing, playing an instrument, or providing a lecture to the residents on a topic of interest. (Dates and times are flexible). (Apply Online)
Pet Visitation Assistant to bring a friendly pet to visit residents. Pet must be tame, well groomed, and up to date on all vaccinations (records must be provided). Staff will screen pet before visitation begins. This position is flexible and a good way to enjoy short visits with our residents. (Apply Online)
Pianist to play piano for residents. Three 30-minute sets, preferably hymns, classical and old favorites. (One time or on a continuous basis). (Apply Online)
Program Assistant to help employees by providing residents with crafts, games, seasonal events, and other recreational activities. Invite residents to participate in activities, transport residents to and from activities in their wheelchairs, deliver items to resident’s rooms, take residents for a stroll outdoors or around the community, water flowers and provide a variety of other services. Art Assistant to help Art Instructor and staff with implementing painting and craft projects on the Memory Care Unit. (Every Tuesday, 1:30-3:30 pm) or on Assisted Living (Every Tuesday, 10:30–12:00 pm) (Apply Online)
Resident Companion to visit one assigned resident weekly for one hour. Goal is to establish rapport and to develop a friendship with the resident. It is important to visit consistently, so the resident can anticipate your time together. During visits you may talk, look through photo albums, read, go for a stroll outdoors in the courtyard, attend an activity program together, or simply be there for support. (Apply Online)
Exploration Station Assistant to assist residents on a one to one basis with our adaptive touch screen computer called the Exploration Station. The system is user friendly. It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys using the computer for fun. Volunteer will not be teaching residents how to use a computer, rather the volunteer will be assisting them in enjoying technology by playing games and learning. (Apply Online)
Game Leader to lead and assist residents on Assisted Living with playing cards or a board game. (Thursday evenings). (Apply Online)
Bingo Caller to lead bingo games for approximately 8-15 residents. (Fridays, 1:30 – 2:30 pm). (Apply Online)
Writer for the Resident of the Month Program to interview a resident and/or their family member and write a 3 page life review type article on the resident. Articles are posted monthly in a display case for everyone to read. This is a unique opportunity, especially for a student that enjoys writing, to volunteer in a position that is flexible.
